A Fist Full of Dollars

I suppose some will see this as more Bush bashing. I don’t mean it that way. But it is a unique and disturbing way of looking at the immense waste of resources that is our current course.

With “What $1.2 Trillion Can Buy (Besides the Iraq War)” David Leonhardt in the New York Times breaks down the cost of war against other potential uses. Like health care: reasearch, immunization, and treatment. Universal preschooling. Security: the actual 9/11 commission recommendations put into practice.

And that’s just in one year. Go to the graphic, it’s astounding.
