Rufus Wainwright proposes that we turn off all our electronics for twelve hours on or around the summer solstice, June 21. Whatever electronics we can personally manage without for half a day. Nice!

Remember the NYC blackout? Even the perishables in the fridge survived (as long as we left the door mostly shut). And we all survived, too. Those of us who could even enjoyed it. And if this idea catches on it will be interesting to see what happens to the earth’s electric bill. And to electronic media mavens…
