Dave Douglas Meets The Westerlies with Anwar Marshall will tour the US west coast October 23-29, 2016!

This project, which had its debut performance in March 2016 in New York, is a fresh collaboration featuring three trumpets, two trombones and drums.

Trumpeter and composer Dave Douglas has composed new music for The Westerlies, a brass quartet comprised of four childhood friends from Seattle, Washington – Riley Mulherkar and Zubin Hensler on trumpet, and Andy Clausen and Willem de Koch on trombone. Performing with the group is Philadelphia drummer extraordinaire Anwar Marshall. The new music Douglas has written for the group explores great American themes in a rich panoply of warm brass sounds.

On this tour, the ensemble will be performing concerts and presenting educational workshops. Here is the complete schedule:
