MYSTERIES ABOUND
Following on the heels of the demise of Santa Monica’s Temple Bar comes news of the possible another venue that has been kind to us Cryptoids in the past. Safari Sam’s in Hollywood has hosted Nels Cline (with & without Banyan), Scott Amendola (with & without Nels Cline), Devin Hoff and Steuart Liebig — not to mention a memorable reunion of members of the Mothers of Invention. Read Ron Garmon’s L.A. Citybeat piece on the Sam’s kerfuffle here. Admittedly, we’re a bit used to our beloved venues dropping like flies — just as we are used to the fact that another new one will pop up just as quickly.
