Oliver Lake

I can happily report that Oliver Lake is playing as strong as ever. A key figure in the past 30 years of American music, what I heard last night tells me that he has no intention of putting on the brakes. Here’s a more general wiki on his history.

Oliver’s excellent group consisted of Greenleaf friend DJ Jahi Sundance on turntables, great B-3-ist Jared Gold, and one of my faves on drums, Chris Dave. They played mostly originals, but also a few key pieces by recently passed trumpeter Malachi Thompson.

Triumphant, powerful, grooving, free. Oliver has it all.
