  1. Man, the contrast between my grungy rehearsal space and Wilco’s loft is mindblowing 🙂

Re: previous post re: stealing music. I don’t have any answers. It just makes me sad that people can’t make a connection between money they spend on a CD and the livelihood of an independent or small label artist. I think the irony here is that the current technology that exists actually mirrors a deep disconnect we have amongst our fellow humans on the planet.

Then again, that disconnect has always been with us. Again, speaking as a musician and composer, I’m still confused. But will keep my ears and options open.

Buying the latest Moonshine or Nels Cline’s terrific solo CD from your site feels like a political act! It’s crazy.

  2. I hear you. I go to a different record store every couple weeks always with a commitment to spend money. And I make sure I tell all my friends I’m doing such. Maybe it will keep people inspired and supporting those they dig.

Being a label guy also lets me understand the importance of the preorder system and always jump on board for that. It makes me feel that much more connected. Maybe I’m… err… I am a music nerd. But everyone should want to feel that connection to their favorite artists.
